We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Legal Sepcialist to join our legal team, based in Makati City, Philippines. This role is designed to provide expert legal support to our regional legal team on a project or fixed-term basis and be based in the Philippines. The Legal Specialist will work closely with internal stakeholders and the Overseas Legal Team to deliver strategic legal and compliance advice, contract management, and support business objectives. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to a dynamic organization while bringing specialized legal expertise to key projects and initiatives to be launched across different overseas markets.
The position will be a 12-month temporary assignment managed by an agency, a third party who will be your employer. While you may be assigned to work at Trip.com, you will not be a Trip.com employee. All contractual terms, including payroll and benefits, will be handled by third party agency.
- Legal Advisory: Provide accurate and timely legal advice to internal teams on a range of matters, including contracts, regulatory compliance, and corporate governance.
- Contract Management: Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and legal requirements.
- Compliance Support: Assist in ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies, including conducting risk assessments and implementing mitigation strategies.
- Corporate Governance: Assist in drafting of regulatory reporting obligations and support in the development and/or implementation of corporate governance frameworks.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives and resolve legal issues.
- Research and Analysis: Conduct legal research on emerging issues, providing clear and concise recommendations to senior management.
- Project Support: Provide legal expertise for special projects, such as mergers and acquisitions, restructurings, or regulatory filings, as may be required.
- Bachelor’s degree in law (LLB), Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent postgraduate qualification in law.
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a legal role, preferably within a corporate or law firm setting. Experience in commercial, corporate, regulatory compliance, or technology law is preferred.
- Strong background in contract drafting and management is preferred. Proficiency in legal research and AI tools will be considered an advantage. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders is necessary.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and adapt to changing business needs. Prior experience working as an independent contract or in a similar flexible engagement is advantageous but not essential.
